SAP America, the leading business software firm, sought out the leading commercial architecture firms of the Delaware Valley for the design of their headquarter’s expansion. We were selected along with two other firms to participate in a paid competition for the master plan of the site and the conceptual design of the first phase.
Located in an arboretum quality site in suburban Philadelphia, SAP’s existing building was designed as a single tenant corporate headquarters. The master plan was for full development of the site as a series of complimentary buildings that respected the landscape, were environmentally innovatice and supported employee interaction and collaboration. The program was for 800,000 square feet of office and conference facilities and parking for 3,300 cars.
Intended as a reflection of the core values of the company and an affirmation of the SAP brand, the complex was shrewdly required to be planned as potential multi-tenant buildings that could be leased to others as an exit strategy.
