This was the winning entry in a developer competition to transform the industrial site on Manayunk’s Venice Island, formerly occupied by Connelly Containers, into a mixed use project with 220 apartments over 45,000 square feet of retail. Directly adjacent to the center of the bustling Manayunk neighborhood, the design of the new structure was intended to integrate into the character of the place by creating an additional shopping street parallel to Main Street, the area’s existing primary shopping street. Two bridges, one vehicular and one pedestrian only, connect the new street back to Main Street

The project included a 120 room boutique hotel. The apartment buildings and the hotel sat on a two story podium of parking for 470 cars for the apartments that raised the occupied levels of the development above the 100 year flood elevation. The hotel had its own parking garage for 150 cars on top of the podium.
