22-Story, 245-Unit Mixed-Use Tower Rises to 12th Floor at 36 Park Place, Newark, N.J.
Construction is now 12 stories above street level on the 22-story, 245-unit mixed-use building at 36 Park Place, located on the corner of Center Street in downtown Newark, New Jersey. Progress on the tower, dubbed One Theater Square, can be tracked thanks to a webcam installed by the developers.
The project will contain 245 rental apartments, of which 10 percent, or 24 units, will be designated as affordable. The apartments will range from studios to three-bedrooms. There will also be 12,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a four-story, 285-car parking garage.
Dranoff Properties and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center are the developers. BLT Architects is responsible for the architecture. Completion is expected in Summer 2018.
